A drawing of his photograph, Parisian Morning in Spain, [link]
He at one point said that he wondered how someone would draw one of his photographs so I offered to draw one. He let me choose which one I wanted to draw. Go check out the photograph and give a nice comment.
At first I thought about drawing this as a direct copy from reference. I was going to use a grid and try to make it as perfect as possible, but then I realized that was a stupid idea. Why copy an already great photograph? Nothing I could do would be better than the original, and that is probably not what he hoped from me anyway. So instead I just started sketching, tweaked things here and there and hopefully drew something that shows a little bit of my style interpreting his idea.
Pencil increased saturation to bring out color and increased contrast a bit to improve what the scanner screwed.
I think you got it, you're interpretetion is wonderful. It's a really great work.

Thanks! I am such a sucker for high contrast. I initially didn't want to do anything to this picture once it was scanned, not even adjust the contrast, but of course the scanner screwed it up so that gave me an excuse to go crazy with the contrast again. I just can't help myself.
Oh, and in my defense, I was also hoping that some of the contrast would make it look like sun shining through a window in the morning. I don't know if that was just wishful thinking, but maybe it shows that I am not all crazy when it comes to high contrast.
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
